A letter from Dave Smiley
Thank You!
If you have been a past supporter, we thank you!
Your generosity has given hope to hundreds of clients at Prado Day Center and made a real difference in their lives.
A few years ago, Prado Day Center welcomed about 70 people a day. Now the daily count ranges between 90 and 120. Women and children make up the fastest growing segment of the client base. Circumstances vary, but the high cost of housing in our county and other situations — like escaping violent domestic situations or losing everything due to overwhelming medical expenses — have contributed to the increase in the homeless population.
Even ten additional clients per day per year equates to nearly $35,000 in additional operating costs, and this is just to continue status quo.
Friends of Prado Day Center is proud of its accomplishments to date and the tremendous assistance we've received from the community.
There will indeed be challenges ahead, but we hope you will join us as we move our mission forward.
